While researching for my MFA thesis essay on Northern Narratives, I was shocked to discover the absence of fiction novels by Yukon First Nations. I am determined to help change this.
To support this effort, I have created a Yukon First Nations writing collective that meets over Zoom for engaging writing workshops. These sessions focus on elements of craft, allowing writers to learn step by step how to create short stories, creative nonfiction, and fiction.
Additionally, I offer one-on-one consultations to assist with creative writing projects. This includes reading and providing feedback on manuscripts.
If you are from the Yukon and are interested in starting your writing journey, please contact me.

Scheduled writing sessions tailored to your goals.
These sessions are designed to help you build consistency, overcome creative blocks, and reconnect to your voice.

After discussions about what you want your piece to be, I can provide prompts so that you can work on your time.
Personalized or themed prompts to help you explore new ideas, push your writing in fresh directions, and cultivate regular practice.
I want to help spark something—memory, image, emotion, or rhythm.

After discussing about what you want your piece or manuscript to be, I will create a reading list that best fits your goals.
Reading is the best teacher

I offer a read through of your drafted work.
I read the piece twice, and can provide notes within the document, or general notes.
Thoughtful feedback on your manuscript, chapter, or short piece. I provide detailed notes that highlight strengths and offer suggestions for structure, flow, and emotional depth—always with respect for your creative vision.
My notes aim to help you see your work more clearly — what’s already alive on the page and where the heart of your story might be hiding.

I can also create a writing schedule for you with due dates.
Together we can shape a writing rhythm that feels possible and kind. finding small, steady ways to keep your practice alive.
Together, we’ll map out a schedule that fits your lifestyle and supports your creative goals.

I’m open to discussing this further.
While fair compensation for my time is important, what matters most to me is seeing more Yukon First Nations voices in print — bringing more fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, and children’s books that belong on our shelves and in our hands.

If an organization, government or university wishes to have a writing workshop, please contact me.
